Sunday May 28 we celebrate Pentecost, the day we mark as the birth of the Church.  On the first Christian Pentecost, the Holy Spirit filled the room where the apostles had gathered and filled the disicples as well.  They began to speak in other languages.  The significances of this gift of the Holy Spirit is that many people heard about Jesus in their own language.

Join us as we praise God in song and music for the Holy Spirit. Celebrate how widely the Good News of Jesus has spread through the Church from that room where the Apsotles gathered nearly 2000 years ago to the ends of the earth today.   We rejoice in the greatness of God's love and at the wondrous spread of faith in Jesus Christ that is now celebrated in many languages and through a diversity of music.

On Pentecost this year, we join the global praise of Jesus Christ with special music in Spanish, Swedish and Portuguese.  Our music will include: an African-American spiritual, a Swedish folk tune (sung in Spanish and English), an African tune, a 1970's Christian Folk tune, a Taize chant, Swedish contempory music, a Brazilian folk tune, and Beethoven.

As we celebrate Pentecost, ponder how the Holy Spirit will continue to inspire and gift the Church to spread the Good News of Jesus in the future.  Know that Jesus loves you no matter which language you speak.
