Holy Week Worship
Palm Sunday (March 29) ~ 9:00 am
-We begin in narthex and process into sanctuary with palms. Our liturgy will follow the narrative of Christ’s Passion according to the Gospel of Matthew.
Maundy Thursday (April 2) ~ 6:30 pm (potluck followed by worship)
- We will begin with a meal in the Fellowship Hall which will flow into our worship service with optional foot (or hand) washing, confession, bible readings, message, and Holy Communion around our tables. It is a chance to experience the beginning of Holy Communion as Jesus disciples first experienced it, at table fellowship. We will then go to the sanctuary for a time of prayer and stripping of the altar. Know that you are welcome to come later. We plan to begin worship in the Fellowship Hall around 7 pm. The good news is that ALL are invited. Jesus gives us a mandate to love one another. Bring food to share if you can, come when you can.
Good Friday (April 3) ~ 1 pm (Community-wide Worship service at St. John’s)
- Once again this year, our Good Friday worship service will be organized and planned by Pastor Michelle and involve various local pastors and the St. John choir. This worship service is supported by the Richland County Ministerial Association (RCMA). An offering will be received to support Lydia’s House Ministries for the homeless in our county.
Easter Sunday (April 5)
- 6:00 a.m. Easter Sunrise worship service (We gather together while it is still dark, greeting the sunrise and celebrating the risen Christ.)
- 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. Easter breakfast
- 9:00 a.m. Easter worship celebration (Join us as we rejoice with music, our choir, scripture, the Good News, and Holy Communion.)
~ As always, all are welcome! ~
