During August, we will have the following live stream / in person worship schedule:

1.    In person worship will be in small groups of 10 at designated times and require people to sign up to limit the group size.  We will begin with a small group at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays and a small group at 10:30 am on Sundays and add additional times if needed.  Please call the church (608)647-3000 to sign up.

  • This small group worship will include:  scripture reading, prayers, and Holy Communion and last about 20 to 30 minutes.  There will be no sermon.
  • Masks will be required as is sign-up before worship.

2.   Online worship will be livestreamed and recorded at 9:00 am on Sundays.  This will be livestreamed only, with only tech volunteers, musicians, and the pastor in person.

  • This worship will include music, prayers, scripture readings and the sermon.  There will be no Holy Communion as part of this worship service for now.
  • Masks will be used by tech crew and those not speaking live.

WHY?

1.    Our research and experience have taught us that we need a quality online worship experience.  We have had too many tech issues trying to do both in-person and online simultaneously.  We need time to focus on upgrading and doing on-line worship well.

2.   Experience and research shows that people are currently coming to in-person worship because they want in-person interaction.  With our focus on the details to online worship, attention to the needs of people present in-person has been secondary.  Moving to small groups allows the pastor to focus on individual prayer needs and to be more interactive with the people who have gathered.  Limiting to 10 people allows us to set a pattern that will most likely not change even if the pandemic gets worse in our area.  Most importantly, a smaller group gathering for a shorter time may allow for others to participate who have been worried about gathering in larger groups.   We will try this new model of online only at 9:00 a.m. Sundays and in-person at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays through Ausgust.
